Terms of Service
Version 2026-07-17
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the My New Details website and services at mynewdetails.com.au (the "Service"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — e.g. 'My New Details Pty Ltd' or sole trader name] (ABN [ABN]) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy.
1. What the Service is
The Service provides single-use, disposable Australian contact details — email addresses and (when available) phone numbers — that can receive a one-time verification message (an "OTP") when you sign up to a third-party website or app that you nominate.
Each rented detail is intended to receive verification messages for the single website you nominate, remains able to receive messages for a limited period (currently 7 days for an email inbox and 24 hours for a phone number), and is never reused for the same nominated website for any other customer.
The Service also offers monthly plans: extending an inbox to receive for 30 days, and private phone numbers rented for 30-day periods (see section 5A). Programmatic access is available through our API (see section 5B).
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You must register with accurate details, including a genuine email address that you control. Disposable or temporary email addresses (including addresses issued by this Service) cannot be used to register.
- You are limited to one account per person, and you are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your password secure.
- We may decline registration, or suspend or close an account, where we reasonably believe these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy have been or will be breached.
3. Prepaid credit and payment
- The Service uses a prepaid credit balance ("wallet"). You top up your wallet in Australian dollars using the amounts offered at checkout; payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number.
- Each rental is charged against your wallet at the price displayed at the time of purchase. Prices are in AUD and may change; changes never affect credit already spent.
- Wallet credit is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law, and can only be used within the Service. Credit does not expire while your account remains open.
- If a payment you made is reversed (for example a chargeback or a disputed card payment), we may deduct the reversed amount from your wallet, suspend your account pending review, and recover any resulting negative balance.
- We email a receipt / tax invoice for every top-up. Promotional credit (for example referral bonuses or testing credit we grant) is not purchased money: it can be spent within the Service but is never refundable or redeemable for cash, and we may adjust or withdraw promotional programs at any time.
- Rewards program: from time to time we may offer loyalty rewards (for example, a free rental after a number of paid rentals of the same product). Rewards have no cash value, are not transferable, apply only to the product category they were earned in, and can only be used within the Service under these Terms. We may change the earning rules, pause, or withdraw the program at any time; rewards already earned remain redeemable for a reasonable period after any withdrawal. Rewards obtained through fraud or a breach of these Terms are void.
4. Service delivery
- A rental is delivered when we allocate a contact detail to you and make it available in your dashboard. Whether a third-party website actually sends a message to that detail is outside our control, and we do not guarantee that any particular third-party service will accept the detail or deliver a message.
- If we charge you and are unable to allocate a detail at all, we will review the failure and, unless the failure arose from your breach of these Terms, rectify it or refund the charge.
- Received messages are displayed in your dashboard and are automatically deleted after the retention period described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: the Service is for protecting your privacy in lawful, everyday sign-ups — it must not be used for fraud, to create accounts with financial institutions, government services or other prohibited categories, or to break any law or the terms of any third-party service in a way that causes harm.
5A. Monthly plans and renewal
- Monthly plans (persisted inboxes and private phone numbers) are prepaid for 30 days at the price displayed when you buy or renew.
- Monthly plans do NOT renew automatically by default. We email you about a week before a plan ends; renewing is a step you take, and each renewal is charged to your wallet at that time.
- You may optionally turn on auto-renew for a plan. If you do, we will charge the renewal to your prepaid wallet (never directly to a card) as the period ends, after emailing you about a week beforehand. If your wallet cannot cover it we email you instead of charging, and the plan ends normally. You can turn auto-renew off at any time before the renewal.
- If a private phone number's plan ends without renewal, the number is permanently released. It cannot be recovered afterwards, by you or anyone else. We warn about this in the product and in the reminder email.
- Private phone numbers may receive texts from ordinary senders, but texts from prohibited service categories (see the Acceptable Use Policy) are not delivered, and repeated receipt of such texts may result in the number being muted for the remainder of its period or the account being suspended, as the Acceptable Use Policy describes.
5B. API access
- We offer programmatic access to the Service through an authenticated API, using API keys you create in your account settings.
- Your API keys are yours alone: you are responsible for keeping them secret, for all activity performed with them, and you must not share, sell or sub-licence them. Revoke a key immediately if you believe it is compromised.
- API use is subject to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy in exactly the same way as use of the website, including the prohibited service categories, and is charged to the same wallet at the prices published in the API documentation.
- We may apply and change rate limits, endpoints and API pricing from time to time; material pricing changes will be notified in advance and never affect credit already spent.
- The API is provided on the same service terms as the rest of the Service; we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may suspend API access separately from website access where necessary to protect the Service.
6. Suspension, termination and forfeiture
- We may suspend or terminate your account immediately where we reasonably believe you have materially breached these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, where required by law, or to protect the Service or others.
- To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), if your account is terminated for a material breach — for example fraud, attempting to obtain details for prohibited services, or a chargeback on spent funds — any remaining wallet credit may be withheld while we investigate and may be forfeited. [LAWYER: confirm the enforceability and preferred drafting of this forfeiture clause.]
- You may close your account at any time, either self-service from account settings (which deletes your stored messages and personal details immediately, and ends any active rentals) or by contacting support@mynewdetails.com.au. On closure of an account in good standing, we will refund unused PURCHASED wallet credit on request made within 30 days of closure; promotional credit is not refundable.
7. Refunds and the Australian Consumer Law
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- If the Service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to the remedies the Australian Consumer Law provides — for a major failure, a refund or compensation for the drop in value; for other failures, having the problem remedied within a reasonable time.
- Outside of your legal rights, refunds of unused wallet credit are at our reasonable discretion. Contact support@mynewdetails.com.au and we will work through it with you.
8. Liability
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the Service is limited, at our election, to resupplying the affected service or refunding the amount you paid for it.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party websites you use a rented detail with, or for consequences of your own breach of a third-party service's terms.
- Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under Australian law.
9. Privacy
Our collection and handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, you will be asked to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. The version date at the top of the Terms tells you when they last changed materially.
11. General
- These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE — e.g. New South Wales], Australia, and the courts of that state and the Commonwealth have jurisdiction.
- If part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
