Acceptable Use Policy
Version 2026-07-13
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with My New Details. It forms part of our Terms of Service. We built this Service so people can protect their real contact details from marketing lists, data breaches and spam — not so anyone can hide from the law or defraud others.
1. Permitted use
You may use rented contact details to receive one-time verification messages when signing up, in your own right and for lawful purposes, to websites and apps that we have not prohibited.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use the Service, or any detail rented from it, to:
- commit, facilitate or conceal fraud, theft, scams or money laundering, or deal with the proceeds of crime;
- create or verify accounts in someone else's name, or otherwise impersonate any person or entity;
- create or verify accounts with prohibited service categories (see section 3);
- evade age restrictions, or access age-restricted products or services while underage;
- evade a self-exclusion scheme (for example gambling self-exclusion);
- harass, stalk, threaten or abuse any person;
- send spam or unsolicited communications, or operate fake-review, fake-vote or engagement-manipulation schemes;
- register accounts in bulk, resell or sub-licence rented details, or operate an account-farming or account-resale business;
- interfere with the Service itself, including probing, scraping, circumventing rate limits or velocity limits, brute-forcing discount or referral codes, registering multiple accounts, or using our own details to register with us (automated access is permitted only through the API); or
- break any applicable law, or use the Service in a way intended to cause loss or harm to any third party.
3. Prohibited service categories
Because disposable details in these categories are strongly associated with serious fraud (account takeover, mule accounts, SIM-porting, identity crime), you must not use rented details with:
- government services (including myGov, the ATO, Services Australia, and any gov.au / gov / mil namespace, Australian or foreign);
- banks, payment providers and other financial institutions;
- superannuation funds;
- cryptocurrency exchanges;
- telecommunications carriers;
- betting and wagering services; and
- health insurers.
The Service enforces this list technically: prohibited websites cannot be selected, and every attempt to select one is recorded. The in-product list is the authoritative, current version and may be extended at any time without notice.
This applies to monthly private numbers too: texts sent to your private number from prohibited service categories are not delivered to you. The first such text earns a warning; a second on the same number mutes that number for the remainder of its period (no further delivery from any sender, no renewal); the pattern recurring on another of your numbers results in suspension. If you believe a withheld text was innocent — for example intended for a previous holder of the number — contact support@mynewdetails.com.au.
3A. Programmatic (API) use
Everything in this AUP applies equally to use of the Service through the API. In addition, you must not:
- share, sell, sub-licence or pool API keys, or operate a service that resells access to rented details;
- attempt to evade API rate limits (including by spreading requests across keys or accounts); or
- use the API to attempt rentals for prohibited service categories — attempts are recorded and carry the same consequences as attempts made on the website.
4. Enforcement
- We monitor abuse signals, including attempts to select prohibited websites, rental velocity, payment reversals and registration patterns.
- Repeated attempts to obtain details for prohibited services result in automatic suspension pending review.
- Breach of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension or termination, and forfeiture of remaining credit to the extent permitted by law.
- We cooperate with Australian and foreign law enforcement and regulators, and with legitimate abuse reports from affected third-party services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Reporting abuse
If you believe a detail issued by this Service has been used against you or your platform, contact support@mynewdetails.com.au. Include the address or number and the approximate time, and we will investigate.
